Palm-Paraffin- blended wax for Pillar Candles

About This Product
This blend combines hydrogenated palm oil, CAS 8021-56-5, with refined paraffin at a higher melting range than the jar grade, formulated for free-standing moulded candles. It is supplied as flakes or slabs and specified by melting point, congealing point, oil content and hardness. A pillar has to do things a container candle never does. It must carry its own weight without slumping, it must survive handling and a warm shop floor, and it must shrink enough on cooling to drop out of the mould cleanly while still taking a good surface finish. That means a higher melting point and a harder set than any container wax, which is precisely what raising the palm fraction provides, since hydrogenated palm oil is both harder and higher melting than paraffin at candle grades. Palm also crystallises strongly, which contributes to mould release and can be cultivated as a surface effect if the candle is cooled slowly. The paraffin fraction keeps the blend workable, holds fragrance and gives the smooth, even sidewall a moulded candle needs. It is used in moulded pillar and taper candles, church and altar candles, decorative and sculptural candles and in commercial pillar production. Bio Green Wax supplies this blend to specification on blend ratio, melting point, congealing point, oil content, hardness and colour, with RSPO certification available on the palm fraction.
